Visitors Information Area At Good Vibrations

Dear Friends and Members,

As you may know, we are not funded to staff the Visitor's Center portion of The Chamber Office; we have relied solely on the generosity of volunteers to staff this area these past few years. We receive no funding from the county. We have been very fortunate with the volunteers we have had, Sue Olson, Helen Murray, Valerie Wegat, Allison Stienberg and her students at St. Andrews Academy, Jacqui Cordova, and Jolene Sherman. This has allowed the tourist information area of the Chamber office to remain open to the public on Tuesday through Friday 2:00-4:00 p.m. We were hoping we could increase these hours with more volunteers, but as you have probably seen in numerous newsletters, email requests, and Chamber columns in the paper, sadly, we have had no takers.

A very generous offer came to us just after we learned about water damage issues we’ve had at the Chamber office, which will necessitate repairs and possibly reconstruction. Good Vibrations offered us volunteers and a space in their building where visitors could have answers to their tourism questions during Good Vibrations’ regular business hours. Winter & Spring (January-May) hours are Monday through Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. They have made this generous offer at no cost to the Chamber Membership; this is an added member benefit. The Board voted, by majority, to accept their amazingly generous offer.

We will be moving brochures to Good Vibrations’ sunroom by the creek, by March 5th. If you would like to update us with your brochures, you are welcome to drop them by the Chamber office Tuesday-Friday 2:00-4:00 p.m. or, for another time that works better for you, please contact Kim so we can help make that happen. We will be updating brochure supplies for the Good Vibrations visitor information area.

Beginning the week of March 4th, our membership office will continue to remain open for drop-ins with extended hours, Tuesday through Friday from noon to 3:30 p.m. (we are hoping that lunch time might create more flexibility for folks who run errands during their lunch hours). We close the door at 3:30 p.m. for more appointments, to finish up emails, phone calls, and projects that we would not be able to finish with interruptions.

If the above times don't work, members are welcome and encouraged to set up private appointments with the Chamber Office Manager. They can contact her through her email kimjames@lakealmanorarea.com, the Chamber Office 530-258-2426 or her cell phone 530-816-0431.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

Sincerely Yours,
Linda Pohler
Chamber President
