Look for Rubber Duck tickets from a Rotarian on the street or at Plumas Bank. Race begins at 2 pm on the Feather River just north of Chester Park. Chester Park Sign Painted! The Chester Park sign, pictured at right, was painted and turned so that our visitors could see our beautiful park both coming and going. Thanks go to Cal Thurber for this most recent rennovation. Cal built the original sign while a student in the woodshop class at Chester High School in the late 70's. Thank you Cal for being such a long time community volunteer! Main Street Parade 11 a.m The 2009 4th of July Parade brings us an opportunity to celebrate our Paradise in the Pines. This year's parade theme honors our wonderful community and the visitors who come here on the 4th to share our bit of paradise. Jess & Neil Horning, of the Momboosa Music Festival have contributed the music of Mudshots to our parade morning festivities. Mudshots will be playing during the a.m. in the lot of the future Main Street Coffee Bar located between U.S. Bank and Coldwell Banker Kehr O'Brien Real Estate. This year’s parade includes our Grand Marshal, Mr. Jim Benner, a variety of floats, equestrian riders, and various organizations showing off their talents! The parade begins at 11 a.m. from the Collins Pine Lawn, and moves through town on Main Street turning left on Olsen Street in Old Town. While many communities have been forced to downsize their 4th of July celebrations, the Chester-Lake Almanor Chamber of Commerce has committed to keeping our traditions strong. The Fireworks will go off this year! Help us make it happen in 2010! During the Parade, look for our Chamber volunteers and the special Fireworks Raffle our member businesses have donated toward this special event. Tickets are $1 each, 6 for $5 and 15 for $10. First Prize is $500. Second Prize is a Scenic Air Tour for 3 from Mt. Lassen Aviation. Additional prizes have been donated by the Pizza Factory, Sonshine Flowers, Cedar Lodge, Mi Casita, B & B Booksellers, Brittney's Gifts, St. Bernard Lodge & Restaurant, Almanor Bowling Center & Chester Auto.
