Fireworks Tradition Off to a Spectacular Start

The beautiful Lake Almanor community of FOXWOOD has committed up to $7,000.00 to continue our tradition of fireworks over Lake Almanor on the 4th of July.

The challenge?

Our community, our visitors and our friends have until June 1, 2010 to raise an additional $7,000.00!  There are lots of grass roots efforts in the works to meet the challenge.  Our CLOE for Mayor Campaign is one.

Tom Rigney Alert!

There have been multiple sightings of Tom Rigney about town. Some say it is the posters going up all over. Others say it is just Clint Eastwood visiting town.

The truth is out there.  All we know is that Tom will play Thursday Night, September 24th!

And that's when we all will dance till we drop!

Outdoor Writers Come to Lake Almanor this Weekend!

Our community has come together in the most awesome way to welcome the Outdoor Writers Association of California to the 2009 Fall OWAC Conference in Lake Almanor.  It is why we are proud to live here.

We hope the writers, photographers and radio hosts of OWAC catch our spirit!

Today we would like to recognize the lodging providers of the Basin for their generosity in hosting the conference attendees during the Saturday through Monday activities.  Please read on.

Protect Our Lake

The Save Lake Almanor Committee asks community members to stay abreast of recent developments in the State Water Resources Control Board's proposals to lower water temperatures 40 miles downstream of Lake Almanor.

This is not a time to become complascent.   We are the people who will be most affected by the actions of others. Our voices need to be heard.

If you would like further information, or would like to become more active in our local efforts, contact the committee at www.savelakealmanor.org or call  (530) 259-5687.

A "Shout Out" To Our Community!

You may have noticed that we promoting the events in our community by hanging a banner across Main Street (Hwy 36). This has been made possible by the help of many.

We give a big THANK YOU to: Holland Construction (Dutch & Stan), Collins Pine (Jay & Eric), CalNeva Cable (Pete), Doug, and our California High Patrol, (Eric). Thanks for helping us get the word out!
