Awesome Autumn

News From the Plumas County Visitors Bureau

"We’re still in the early stages of fall color, with chokecherry and Virginia Creeper as usual being the earlybirds. Hints of color are showing at the higher elevations, but there’s still a few more days ahead of long sunny days and crisp (but not freezing) nights, which work to bring on the color. Weather isn’t the only factor….as we know that gradual loss of daylight is what really makes those leaves turn!

GET YOUR FREEBIES! Leaf-peepers should get armed with a copy of the Plumas County Fall Color Guide and map, which describes best the fall color routes."

Leef-Peeper kits are available at the Chamber Office, 529 Main Street or call to order 530-258-2426

Picnic in the Park: Our Best Community Supper Yet!

Picnic in the Park had us eating, talking and dancing till dark! From the scrumptious salads and sides brought by our neighbors to the larger contributions of Tri-tip by Tim O'Brien & Friends, produce from Jeff Roe's Produce and mouth-watering chili provided by Tom Loyd, Tony Vincent & Petie Pratt, Picnic in the Park became a true Community Pot Luck this year.

The Chamber had many calls asking us "Who were those great looking guys tending the BBQ?"  We have your answer.  They were Erik Rudgers, Phil Culcasi, Bob Gonzales, Bob Rouland, Grant Holiday and Wally Blem!  And tending bar?  Bob Swor, Arlie Holand, Kim Holiday, Kim Jergentz, Joan Eychner, & Pete Gilmour!

We thank you all for making Picnic in the Park the best Community Supper ever!

And, a special thank you to Tim for bringing Tom Rigney & Flambeau back to our Park  and  to Bob Souter for adding his trumpet to the night!  Click here to view the fun.
