President's Leadership Award

Leadership means different things in different situations. Alan Keith of Genentech states that, "Leadership is ultimately about creating a way for people to contribute to making something extraordinary happen". There is no doubt that good leadership can create wonderful results in a community; youth can become more successful, elderly can stay involved, challenges can be overcome and bright futures made possible.

Beginning a new tradition the Chester Lake Almanor Chamber of Commerce created a President's Leadership Award to honor those people in our community who make extraordinary things happen.

The first recipient of the President's Leadership Award was Sargeant Dean Canalia, presented by past Chamber President and community leader, Art Tantardino.  Sergeant Canalia, has served our community as a deputy sheriff since 1994 with a promotion to Sargeant in 2003.

All communities have public safety challenges, but ours presents Sargeant Canalia with many addiitional challenges including major population fluctuations from season to season.  Dean and his team of deputies make these transitions appear seamless with safety and concern for each us their highest priority.   Thank you Dean Canalia and Congratulations!
