We have heard a rumor that our meetings are closed to its members. Our meetings are not closed to members. If you are a current member, you are welcome and encouraged to sit in while your board works. We ask that all visitors reserve comment, suggestions, etc. until the open forum portion of the meeting. If you wish to be on the agenda, please give us eight days notice so we can make that happen for you.
The Board of Directors for the Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce meets once a month, on the second Wednesday, to focus on improving tourism and economic development in the Lake Almanor Basin. This is a great time for our membership to find out just how this happens. We plan, organize, coordinate, and implement events such as the 4th of July parade, the Fireworks, the Chili Cook-off, the Street Rod Extravaganza, etc. The events are followed up with correspondence and billing. Member audience is most welcome, and the open forum portion at the end of the meeting provides time for comments and questions from guests. Any member who has specific concerns or ideas to bring to the chamber is also welcome to call for a spot on the agenda, at least eight business days prior to the meeting. Since the Board of Directors is comprised of business owners and others who volunteer their time and energy, the agenda serves the goal of budgeting the meeting time. The Chamber of Commerce also welcomes involvement in other areas. All Chamber events take a tremendous amount of volunteer time and energy—two things in high demand! Our area has seen some difficult times in the past few years, and events sponsored by the Chamber are one way to bring back excitement and positivity to our communities. The chamber is hoping for involvement from positive and enthusiastic volunteers who care about keeping our community a great place to live and visit. Please let us know if you plan to attend the open forum at 1:30 and, please remember, we need an eight business day lead to put you on the open forum agenda, as we have limited seating and time and we want to make sure to have a seat and time for you. read more...
