The Chester-Lake Almanor Chamber of Commerce is now taking applications for volunteer docents for the Visitors Center this summer. Call us about this exciting opportunity to learn about and share our area with the many visitors to the Lake Almanor Basin during the summer months. Docent shifts can be arranged to meet most any schedule.

Art and music return to the Back Room Gallery at B & B Booksellers and Northwoods Art Gallery this Friday, May 8th.  The Giggling Crow will add to this Second Friday offering with a special Lady's Night Out event.    Come to town, sample the shopping and culture before enjoying a great meal at our Lake Almanor area restaurants. 

B.J. North, Executive Vice President, Manager Retail Banking, Plumas Bank will be the keynote speaker at the Chamber's Annual Membership Breakfast, Wednesday, May 13 at the Elk's Lodge at 7 am. Members and guests are invited to take this opportunity to meet fellow chamber members and receive news about activities and chamber events. Businesses and agencies have a great opportunity to partner with the Alliance for Workforce Development, Inc. for summer employment.  Employers provide the workplace training, mentoring and experience and receive an employee. AFWD provides the wages, workers compensation, and monitoring.AFWD is seeking positions that provide participants, ages 16-24, with an opportunity to learn workplace skills through meaningful worksite projects. The deadline to apply for interested employers is May 15th.
