We are looking for service-oriented individuals to fill a SVP / Chief Operations Officer position at our Bethalto 140 Branch. If you enjoy helping people, motivating a team and are detail oriented, we encourage you to apply and become part of our team!

Our SVP / Chief Operations Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing results oriented strategies to support the overall strategic direction of the credit union. Has strategic and operational responsibility for member facing and back office support programs and manages a team of managing department professionals.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for strategic development and management of operating units including branch operations, branch services, contact center, e commerce and investment services. Monitors product delivery and quality and takes action to resolve problems. May serve or participate as a member of various Committees such as: Buildings, Consumer/Commercial Loans, ALCO, I/T and Security, etc.

• Maintain regular contact with reporting managers, providing support, input, feedback and guidance concerning their daily operations. Monitor branch and department activities, including transactions, volume, errors, loans, sales objectives and member service activities.

• Participates in establishment of strategic plans and annual budgets; monitors performance of assigned areas throughout the year; establishes annual goals and promotions (in conjunction with marketing) for programs and initiates action to achieve established goals. Analyze various statistics and the use of technology in all areas of operation and make recommendations for the efficient operation and growth of the credit union.

• Responsible for ensuring that professional business relationships are established and maintained with members, vendors, the business community and trade organizations.

• Develop, implement and maintain operational procedures to maximize efficiency and quality of work and to provide consistent quality service to members. Ensures the credit union is in compliance with all regulations; develops procedural changes as compliance requires or new programs demand.

• Performs other job related duties as assigned.



Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience:Ten years to fifteen years of similar or related experience

Education:Equivalent to a college degree and a professional certificate or a graduate degree.


Interpersonal Skills:The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job and a high level of interpersonal skills are critical to the success of this position. Work frequently involves contacts requiring considerable discussion of problems, material presentations, and resolving issues impacting departments or divisions.

Other Skills:Must have in depth understanding of and ability to interpret regulations affecting credit union member service programs. Extensive knowledge of consumer, commercial and real estate lending practices and procedures. Should be able to run spreadsheet and word processing software.
