PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of the Director of Dining Services position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Dining Services Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to make certain that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis, that the quality of food and service reflect a fine dining model and that the Dining Services Department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.


Qualifications:
REQUIREMENTS
•Must be a Certified Dietary Manager through an accredited course approved
by the ADA or eligible to attain certification within one year of hire date
•Experience in dining services based on a hospitality and fine dining model
is preferred
•Previous experience as a Director of Dining Services in a senior care
setting is preferred
•Must have a proven track record of integrity and performance
•Possess a knowledge of the Long Term Care industry or a willingness to
learn (customer satisfaction; employee satisfaction; regulatory
compliance; clinical)
•Embrace the standards, values, and beliefs of the organization
•Possess a flare for meal presentation that will entice our patients
•Excellent communication skills
•Excellent organizational skills
•Must exhibit sound judgment making skills, patience and compassion
•Be capable of maintaining effective working relationships with residents,
family members, staff members and stakeholders
•Possess a desire to create and implement a dining program that will
delight all of our customers

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the
Dining Services Department, its programs and activities based on a fine dining
•Coordinate food services and activities with other related departments
(i.e., Nursing, Environmental, Activity and Social Services, etc.).
•Work closely with the Registered Dietician to monitor nutritional needs
and interventions for patients
•Provide leadership and management oversight for all employees who work in
the Dining Services Department
•Ordering of food and supplies and working within budget
•Maintaining the highest level of sanitation and regulatory compliance
throughout all dining service areas
