Job Summary: Our client in Madison County is looking for a Credit Underwriter to join their team. The Credit Underwriter plays a key role in promoting and sustaining a systematic, unbiased approach to risk analysis by measuring: (1) a potential borrower’s credit worthiness, (2) assessment of the client and market risks, (3) commercial loan portfolio management objectives, (4) the quality of the collateral assets to be used to support the borrowing, (5) adherence to loan policy guidelines and (6) formalize a summary for presentation and approval.

Location: Madison County, IL
Position type: Full Time, Direct Hire
Pay: $70, 000/yr


Qualifications:
•10 or more years of credit analysis or credit underwriting, loan or credit review, or commercial lending experience
•College degree in a related discipline such as Business, Finance or Accounting
•Excellent decision making skills, problem solving skills, oral & written communication
•Advanced knowledge of commercial loan documentation & commercial loan portfolio mgmt.
•Advanced working knowledge of financial reporting and accounting concepts.
•A balanced outlook of credit, documentation, administration and production concerns.
•Ability to identify actual or potential weaknesses in credits or the administration of credits.
•Ability to set schedules and prioritize multiple tasks with independence.
•Requires a high degree of interpersonal skills that involve problem resolution, independence, active listening, communication and problem solving with coworkers and customers.
