Our client in Madison County is looking for an HR Generalist to join their team! The HR Generalist will perform duties such as: onboarding, termination, recruitment/talent, retention, performance management, employee development, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.
•Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program; and write and places job advertisements.
•Conducts new-hire onboarding. Ensures paperwork is appropriately completed and turned into the payroll department.
•Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
•Coaches, counsels, and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
•Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.
•Reviews tardy and absenteeism reports to ensure proper documentation has been issued on employees who have excessive tardiness or absenteeism problems. Work with the payroll department to reconcile that all vacation, sick, personal day, and holiday use was followed according to company policy.
•Discharges employees in a proper and lawful manner. Responsible for settling consequential unemployment cases should they arise.
•Represents the company for any unemployment claims.
•Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
•Administers COBRA for group health plans while working in concert with office manager and payroll department. l l. Reports, maintains, and monitors all workers' compensation case files; follows-up on open cases.
•Reports, maintains, and monitors all FMLA cases; follows-up on open cases.
•Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook.
•Works to understand the union contract should any concerns arise from workers.
•Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints.
•Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
•Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs, company organization charts, employee directory, human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
•Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations and continues education. Keep current on labor laws.
•Overarching safety training.

Location: Madison County, IL
Position type: Full Time, Direct Hire
Pay: Up to $85,000/yr, BOE
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm.
Travel: Travel to the dealerships in Sullivan, MO will be required one to two times per week. This travel requirement will remain ongoing at the dealer's discretion. Position has the possibility of remaining permanent in Sullivan, MO.


Qualifications:
•Required Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field or equivalent education, training, and experience. 2- 4 years of experience in human resource generalist role.
•Preferred Education/Experience: 3-5 years of human resource generalist experience. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential. Background in employment laws & other government compliance regulations.
•HR expertise, business acumen, ethical practice, communication, consultation, critical evaluation, relationship management, team oriented & ability to give/take direction.
