Job Center Title:
Habitat for Humanity of Teller County needs Hammer Team Leaders

Post Date
11/30/2020

Expiration Date
3/15/2021

Details:
The Hammer Team is a select group of volunteers designated for our home Builds and Revitalizations of Residential Homes in Teller County. This group of men and women have some or all of the skills to provide the many tasks required on these projects. Without them, we could not provide the attainable homes for our homebuyer applicants or the revitalizations for senior homeowners.

Hammer Team members are interviewed by the Build Committee, Chairman and added to the Team data-base and work under the directives of the Site Supervisor. Habitat’s Safety officer will provide each member an opportunity to become OSHA certified through a 1 ½ day course. Those who do not become certified will only assist the OSHA certified Team Leaders and will not lead a group of volunteers.

Members who become certified will function as Team Leaders, on our build sites, for our Homebuyers and their circle of friends and family who volunteer. They also Team Lead the AmeriCorps youth group and Collegiate Challenge youth group and other various volunteer groups.

In addition, all Hammer Team members will provide some light handyman assistance during the first 30 days after a home sale to address light construction mishaps overlooked during the build process.

All Team Members will be notified of all weekly Build Committee Meetings, which are not mandatory to attend, but helpful. Build sites require timely arrivals (morning slot at 8:30am or afternoon slot at 12:30pm) to receive instructions from the Site Supervisor & to be prepared for leading a team of volunteers. Team Leaders must commit to a minimum of 1 full day per week or 2 half days per week during builds and revitalizations for an extended period of time.
