Comments:
The VISION of Dawson County Family Partners is a connected community empowering families to thrive.

Our MISSION is partnering with families and communities to identify challenges and create opportunities that help every child, youth, and family stay safe, healthy, and strong.

Dawson County Family Partners (DCFP) is a newly-formed community well-being collaborative that serves the families throughout Dawson County. The primary work of DCFP is to provide a prevention system committed to keeping children, young adults, and families safely in their homes and out of public systems. We do this by engaging directly with young people and families to learn their needs, connecting them through Central Navigation to local resources that can help, and providing emergency financial assistance to fill gaps in local services.

Currently, there are Central Navigators in offices in Cozad, Gothenburg, and Lexington who work with families in their area. A full-time county-wide coordinator is needed to oversee the work of the Central Navigators and help connect them to available resources and services for the families with which they work. The coordinator will work out of an office in Lexington and will serve as a liaison between the Navigators in the communities, the local services available, and Nebraska Children and Families Foundation (NCFF) as the primary funder.

Nebraska Children and Families Foundation also provides a consultant and several opportunities each month for the coordinator to connect with others and be supported in this work. The coordinator will be supported through the existing framework and will be the primary connection point with NCFF.

Because many of the services available to the communities of Dawson County are housed in Lexington, it will be important for the coordinator to become very familiar with the services there, as well as the people working to prove them.

DCFP was formed in the fall of 2020 as a non-profit organization run by a board of directors from across Dawson County. The coordinator will be responsible to the Board and will report directly to them.
