Incumbent serves as a part-time laborer for the highway department, responsible for performing tasks as outlined below:

Operates chain saws, mowers and chipper in removing weeds, brush and storm-damaged trees from rights-of-way, including road sides, culverts, guardrails, and bridges.

Performs traffic control/flagging at work sites, including setting signs, warning markers, barricades and cones
Performs various operations, including preventive maintenance on equipment and tools; painting barricades, guardrails and other assigned objects; cleaning equipment, shop, and assigned areas.

Performs crack sealing operations on roads and bridge decks as assigned.

Performs related duties as assigned.

*Work schedule varies due to activities planned and weather
