MAKING HEREFORD BETTER

Time to Get Back to Work

Now that school has started and programs are in full swing, it is time for everyone to prepare for all the upcoming activities. There will be lot of opportunity for you to be involved this fall and winter and Hereford is about to become a very active place. We want to encourage everyone to make plans to attend all upcoming events and activities. Be one who volunteers when asked and look for the positive in all your involvement. Our slogan "A Winning Attitude and a Winning Spirit" means just that. It takes an entire community to come together and " Make It Better in Hereford."

Member Only Mix & Mingle

The next Member Mix & Mingle has now been scheduled for Thursday, September 25th. It will be held from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm at Happy State Bank. Happy Bank is our host and sponsor and this is always an enjoyable event providing you with the opportunity to network and fellowship with other members. Don't forget to bring plenty of business cards to exchange and to register for door prizes. Come on out and have a great time with the folks at Happy State.

More to come

We encourage you to check periodically with the latest newsletter. As more activity gets scheduled, we will add it to the existing newsletter. If you check frequently, you may get info that you did not previously see.

First Reunion of Whiteface Footballers

This is a special event on October 11, 2014 (Homecoming weekend) honoring former Whiteface coaches Jack Meredith, Larry Wartes, Larry Dippel, Fred Upshaw, Don Cumpton, and Jerry Taylor. Any player who played football at Hereford High School during the era of these coaches are invited to attend. We will also include Cheerleaders during this era. This encompasses 1961-1991. There will be activity at the Community Center and a schedule will be posted on the website soon. If you are interested in attending, you may call the Chamber for more information. We will provide a registration on our calendar of events as soon as all the details are confirmed. This is just a great opportunity for folks to come home for Homecoming and see old friends, team mates, and coaches. On Friday night at half time at the game, we will be honoring the oldest known former players from 1939 - 1944 with a special recognition to the oldest living Whiteface player. This should be very special so you will not want to miss it. Be watching during the next few weeks on the calendar of events for specific information.

It Will Be Here Before You Know It

Our annual Christmas lighted parade will be held with the City Christmas lighting on Monday, December 1st. Do you realize that it is only about 85 days away? We would like to encourage every business or interested club or organization to enter a float, car, unusual vehicle, or other entry in the parade. We will be accpting entries beginning in late October and will announce the entry openining soon. Be thinking about your entry now and plan on helping to make this the largest and best parade ever. The City will be handling the park lighting.
