About Us
Señor Fish, a restaurant which has become synonymous with “L.A. cool,” was established in July of 1988 by Enrique and Alicia Ramirez, siblings who grew up in Northeast Los Angeles, and whose parents hailed from Guadalajara, Mexico.The original outpost was located on North Figueroa Street in Highland Park, in a minuscule kiosk that was known to serve hundreds of hungry Angelenos a day.
We’re talking about the kind of “foodies” who didn’t mind spending the entirety of their lunch hour driving miles in bumper-to-bumper traffic and waiting in a long line to get rewarded with morsels of mouth-watering ceviche tostadas, succulent seafood burritos, or tangy fish tacos, chasing them with “jamaica,” “horchata,” or a selection of soft drinks. Since this location was right around the corner from their mother’s home, it only seems appropriate that so many of “mamacita’s” recipes were the inspiration and mainstay of the restaurant’s menu.
During its twenty-one years in operation satisfying the appetites of its dedicated patrons Señor Fish has expanded to include five new locations: Eagle Rock, Downtown L.A., South Pasadena, Alhambra, and its most recent site, Duarte.
