We love discovering restaurants like this. Villa Italia is a hidden gem in an unlikely location (Target shopping center in Duarte). The restaurant is warm and cozy, with a warm Mediterranean feel. It would not be out of place in a small Italian coastal village. Owner Rosetta Di Piazza will greet you at the door (on the second visit, chances are she'll remember you).
The food is excellent. Rosetta has based the menu on family recipes that have been passed down from her grandmother. The foundation of any Italian restaurant is the sauce and here the sauces are wonderful. So are the soups - they're homemade daily. As for specials, they really are here. The prices are very reasonable and considering the quality of the food, I think this is a place many of you will want to visit over and over.
