About Us

Our theme is "Railroad", reflecting its vital role in Portola's history. The Inn offers a relaxing, casual, and informal boarding house atmosphere with hometown hospitality and service. The building was built in 1910 by Mattie Conner as a boarding house. Over the years it has served as a hotel, private home, elder care facility, and in 1988 was converted to a Bed & Breakfast. Rumor has it in Portola's heyday, downtown Portola had thirteen saloons and this may have been a house of ill repute!! There are six rooms all with private bathrooms. Rooms have queen beds, twin beds, or dual king, and the deluxe room has a queen and king bed. All rooms have TV's, VCR's, hairdryers, iron/ironing boards, coffe makers, and phones. In the living room you can visit with the other guests. In the upstairs sitting room, you can read, visit, or watch VCR movies. Continental breakfast is served in our dining room before 9:00 a.m. If you have food allergies, or require a special diet, let us know. Early morning coffee and tea is available in the kitchen.
