St. Louis County Police Citizens Academy

The St. Louis County Police Department, Fenton Precinct and West County Precinct is co-hosting a Citizen Police Academy at the West County Precinct, 232 Vance Road, Valley Park, starting February 27th.

The classes will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on eight consecutive Wednesdays beginning Feb. 27, with graduation on Apr. 17. The academy also will include two field trips during the eight-week period.

Chief of Police Timothy Fitch said in a news release, "The Citizens Police Academy creates the perfect opportunity to get acquainted with the officers who serve and protect your community. Participants learn about what steps they can take to avoid becoming the victim of a crime and they get an inside look at how the county police department operates. Classes are instructed by law enforcement professionals in various fields."

The Citizens Police Academy is open to all St. Louis County residents and is free. Advanced registration is required. Seating is limited. To obtain a registration form or other details, contact Officers Aaron Dilks at adilks@stlouisco.com or 636/349-8120, or Vincent Bazzoni at vbazonni@stlouisco.com or 314/615-0700.

Those with disabilities or special needs who wish to participate in the program should contact the Department's ADA coordinator at (314) 615-4273 about any questions or accommodations that may be needed to make the meeting site or information accessible.
