Well, here we are again at the Holiday Season. I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving! We are a bustiling community that always has a lot going on. This office is no different! On top of planning the Chamber events for 2015, I have joined the Hospitatlity Committee at the
Humboldt County Convention Center and Visitor's Bureau. We are a group of Humboldt county business leaders and tourism organizations that are making plans for the future of tourism hospitality in Humboldt county. So far, I am the only Southern Humboldt representative. If you have something that you would like me to bring to that table, please let me know! It is a really intersting group and discussion that I see leading to real action. Many of the problems we have locally are in fact county wide. It is interesting to see how other communities are dealing with influxes of people, lack of funding, wore out buildings and streets, crime, etc. I hope to have more to report back in the future!
We are organizing another Town Hall meeting for January, at the request of some of our members and community. We hope to share with everyone, work that is being done to make positive change and projects that have evolved since our last meeting. We are also hoping to have our new law enforcement officers there for a meet and greet. More details will come soon!
