We want your shoes!
It's week two of our shoe drive! How are you doing with the shoe challenge of bringing a bag of 25 shoes to the Chamber? We can't wait to congratulate you on stepping up to the challenge!
It's hard to believe that over 600 million shoes go into landfills across the U.S. annually. The majority of these shoes can still be worn. The shoes that we collect will be kept from landfills in our country and will help others in developing nations start micro-enterprises that will create sustainable incomes for their families and at the same time, raise much needed funds for our team. Can you collect 25 pairs and help? With many people playing a small part, we can achieve great results! Remember if you can’t collect 25, every pair counts.
Thanks for your helping us reach our goal of 100 bags!

The latest in minimally invasive robotic surgery recently arrived at Poinciana Medical Center. Dr. Anthony Nunez, Credentialed Thoracic Surgeon, recently completed the first procedure using the hospital’s new da Vinci Si® Surgical System. The new technology is used at Poinciana Medical Center for a wide range of procedures in urology, gynecology, general surgery and thoracic surgery. “The da Vinci Si® Surgical System is a substantial addition to the surgical programs at our hospital,” said Dottie Ogaz, Director of Perioperative Services at Poinciana Medical Center. “Our teams are now able to use 3-D and high-definition visualization while performing minimally invasive procedures. Patients will benefit from smaller incisions, shorter recovery times, and ultimately, improved outcomes.” “It’s a privilege for us to bring robotic procedures to this community,” said Chris Cosby, CEO of Poinciana Medical Center. “We already have four surgeons fully trained in this highly specialized robotic surgery, which benefits our patients as well as our surgical teams.” Robotic surgery is just one example of growth at Poinciana Medical Center. The hospital is also breaking ground on a $10.1 million expansion to its emergency room this year.
