Born and raised in South Los Angeles, SSG (Ret.) Jason "Stoic" Taylor joined the United States Army at the age of 17, beginning his military career as a member of the Quartermaster Corps (92A). Over time, he transitioned into the role of Motor Transport Operator (88M), serving with unwavering dedication for 20 years, having served in Germany, Korea, Fort Carson, and Fort Hood deploying four times.
Throughout his career, Stoic embodied the Army and makes every effort to exhibit what 1 Cor 13 defines as Love. His journey was marked not only by professional growth but by a deepening commitment to mentorship, faith, and community.
Upon retiring, he found himself asking, “What’s next?” Guided by faith and driven by purpose, he set his sights on giving back. His mission: to continue serving—not through uniform, but through leadership, friendship, and compassion.
This mission led him to establish the NCO Alumni Foundation, an organization rooted in service, leadership, and support. The foundation empowers Noncommissioned Officers (NCOs) with knowledge and wisdom to become not only better leaders, but better human beings—capable of supporting their teams both professionally and personally.
A key initiative of the foundation is providing financial support to service members who have lost a child, offering them the space to grieve without the added burden of sudden expenses. Stoic believes that in moments of unimaginable pain, community and compassion should lead.
Stoic wears many titles—Father, Husband, Brother, Son, and Friend—each one carrying with it a profound sense of responsibility. Through every role, he remains committed to living a life of service, integrity, and love.
