Create BUZZ During Your Presentations

1.Be thankful
To start out, it’s important to recognize your audience, the time they are giving you, and the opportunity to speak to them. This will help you get your audience on board by showing your gratitude and openness, and sets positive energy in the room.  A simple note of gratitude can go a long way as you begin your presentation, project kickoff, sales pitch—heck, even your family meeting

2.Be natural

Even when presenting to an audience that makes you feel uncomfortable, there is no need to be anyone but yourself. You are the one they have chosen to speak, you are the one they want to hear from. Be confident when speaking, and use your normal tone and voice. This doesn’t mean you don’t need to prepare, in fact if might mean the opposite. Make sure you take the time to practice what you are going to say so you can be natural instead of nervous.

3.Be aware of your audience

You should plan specifically for those who will be in the room.   That means doing your research and reconnaissance appropriately!  Use what you know or learn about your audience, how they think, and what they care about to help you tailor your presentation to their needs. You’ll help your audience make the most out of your presentation by making it relevant specifically for them, which will keep them engaged in your message. If they know that you are speaking directly to them, your audience is much more likely to listen to what you have to say. If what you have to say is generic enough if could be said to an entirely different audience at a different time or place, they’ll be able to tell, and they’ll be able to tune you out.
