Building Sustainable, Vibrant Communities

 In 2003, Mother Earth News included Fairfield in “12 Great Places You’ve Never Heard Of” in 2004.  In 2009 Fairfield launched a Go Green Strategic Plan for a sustainable community.  Mayor Malloy will tell us about additional progress to date.
 
1,000 Friends of Iowa’s mission is to unite Iowans in efforts to protect farmland and natural areas, revitalize our neighborhoods, town and cities, and improve quality of life for future generations.  Kari Carney will describe exciting recent developments in numerous communities across Iowa.
 
The Iowa Economic Development Authority Main Street program was recently in Indianola to study our downtown and business sector.  City Manager Ryan Waller worked with this program and will report to us some of the findings and follow-up by the City of Indianola.
