How are you bringing your customers back?

Tips from the Virtual Coffee with the Chamber

Communicate so that people know what to expect, understand where they are supposed to go, and what they are supposed to do. Be clear on the public health protocols that are being followed in your establishment.", said Meg.

Local business owners contributed a list of processes and procedures put in place to welcome customers back and indicated that, as things open up more, they maintain the earlier options in order to meet all customers' comfort levels.

Consider the items on this list as you define your processes.
1. Curbside pickup after placing orders on Website, Social Media, email or phone
2. Welcoming guests by appointment for private shopping with hours set aside for walk-ins
3. Use technology to help people stay connected that can not safely be face-to-face
4. Offer new payment options; Square and Venmo.
5. Communicate your protocol: signs on the door, instructions prior to entering (mask? hand sanitizer? social distancing? information on where to place items that have been handled so they can be quarantined for 24 hours? stand 6 feet from the counter? take temperature before entering? how often disinfecting and cleaning are performed? are restrooms open? can they window shop where you show them items and you talk by phone?  how to request private shopping?)
6. Communicate everywhere: Social media, customer email lists, newsletter, phone calls to invite best customers back, Website.
