Wander Warren County

"To those sponsors who jumped right in…Thanks, we COULD NOT have done it without your financial support.  This was a major endeavor.  At the risk of leaving someone out, I defer to the website for accurate sponsor information:  www.warrencountyfarmtour.com AND, make sure you LIKE the Facebook page, too, to follow along for next year’s event.  YES, there will be one next year too…it’s going to be an annual happening.  In the meantime, I’m one to encourage support for those that support the many activities and organizations in our community, so please remember them when you have a need
“How long has this event been going on?”  “The marketing materials, promotion and event are so well put together that it seems like it’s been going on for a few years”  “Thanks for offering your farm for this event”  “This has been great, thank you”  are just some of the things we heard from the event goers.  Many, if not most were interested in chatting and getting to know the farmers.  It was a pleasure to share our stories with so many.
We also heard, in nice and encouraging ways, what we could do to make it better next year…mainly in the way of directional arrows and signage coloring.  “Brighter signs”  “more definitive arrows”  “more food vendors”, that’s it.  That’s the whole feeling, people just wanted to give ideas to help us make it better; not criticize our efforts.  Things that would make it a bit easier for them to see the signs better, and stay a bit longer.  To say we were all hooked and looking forward to next year is an understatement.
Now, as individual farmers, we all have things we’ll do a little differently.  At our farm and others, we know parking is something we can work on; the logistics, mainly.  The ebb and flow in and out of our places.  For some, like us, the overall setup.  Move this here, that there, to make it easier for all.
Here’s the other thing; the guests to our farms were amazing-kind, courteous, appreciative, respectful!  We could not believe that when the last person drove away, we couldn’t even tell we had just had several hundred to a thousand plus people traipsing around our place.  For the most part, there wasn’t even a piece of garbage to be found, a water bottle or soda was not placed in the receptacle.  And, for this, we are all thankful!
The day was picture perfect and we thank you."
