Learn About Animals that Slither and Crawl

Join the Friends of the Indianola Public Library and Friends of the Warren County Conservation on June 4, 2015, at the Annette Nature Center Pavililion to learn about animals who are creepy & crawly, slithery & scaly, and all around hairy! The Grout Museum will be bringing their live animals for an education and hands-on presentation. Guest animals may include the Burmese python, hissing cockroaches, a bearded dragon, a tarantula, and a surprise animal. This is a free family gathering, though registration is preferred. Hotdogs will be served at 5:15 p.m. and the program will begin at 6 p.m.

Kids Academy at Crossfit 65/69

CrossFit 65/69 will be having an all new Kids Academy beginning this Summer! This is a week long class from 9:30am - Noon.

There will be two sessions:
    June 8 - 12, 2015, for ages 8-12.
    June 15 - 19, 2015, for ages 13 and up 
 
Kids will learn about fitness and healthy lifestyles, as well as work on their general physical preparedness. Both age groups will work on coordination, balance, speed, stamina, flexibility, agility, accuracy, and cardio endurance by way of games, drills, and exercises. The 13+ age group will also learn safety in weighted movements to increase power and strength.

Whether your kids want to work on skills that will transfer to other sports or just burn some energy, this is a great class for all levels.

Women Marketing Grain

Warren County Extension will be hosting a class on June 4, 11, and 18, 2015 called "Women Marketing Grain". The class will take place at DMACC on the West Campus from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Participants will learn about grain marketing from ISU Extension and Outreach specialists and local ag business experts. They will engage in hands-on activities, learn through web-based training, and discuss how to develop a grain marketing strategy and plan. 

*No prior marketing experience is necessary.
