TEAM Training Program

 

As part of its continued effort to improve the health and well-being of Iowans, the Healthiest State Initiative, with support from Greater Des Moines Partnership, recently launched TEAM (Teaching Employees Accountability Matters) training, a free program designed to help employers improve supervisor and employee relationships and increase engagement and retention. 

 

According to the Gallup State of the American Workplace report, 70 percent of U.S. workers are not engaged in their jobs, resulting in lower productivity in the workplace, higher turnover, and a greater risk of safety accidents. This costs companies between $450 billion and $550 billion each year. 

 

The new TEAM training program is available to Partnership Regional Business Members of all sizes and includes two programs: TEAM workforce designed to be delivered to all employees, and TEAM supervisor designed to be delivered to first-time supervisors.

 

Each program features eight 30-minute modules, presentation, and evaluation forms. The curriculum is self-guided and allows employers to insert company-specific policies and expectations. The training provides employees with foundational expectations of the work environment and targeted development for first-time supervisors in critical areas that will be impacted by their new role.

A tribute to Neil Diamond and more!

The Indianola Concert Association presents Denny Diamond and the Jewels on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. The concert will be held in the Indianola High School Auditorium. General Admission is by season tickets: Adults $40, Students $15, Family $90. A limited number of individual tickets for this event are available at the door on a first come, first served basis at $20 for adults and $10 for students. 

This event will not be one to miss!

November 28, 2015- Mark your calendars for a day full of shopping on the square as well as at all of our local businesses for Small Business Saturday! Enjoy special deals on some of your favorite products, and participate in fun activities throughout the day. Grab your friends and make a day of it! Get some lunch at your favorite restaurant and then walk around the square finding the best items for all of your holiday shopping needs, or even shop for yourself! But that's not all! Mark your calendars for the Holiday Extravaganza on December 4, 2015. Get your fill of hot cocoa and homemade bread pudding while you get your picture taken at the NEW Santa House! Enjoy the puddle jumpin' geese, horse-drawn carriage rides and walk around to see the window displays. The Children's Store will be open for every child to get presents for their parents. Then top it off with the Lighting of the Square and the Lighted Parade! This event starts at 5 p.m. and will finish at 8 p.m. Don't forget about the Tour of Homes, Taste of Warren County and Holiday Market  set for December 11-12, 2015. Bundle up and tour seven beautifully decorated homes in Indianola! The Taste of Warren County is on Friday, December 11, 2015 ONLY from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the St. Thomas Aquinas Pastoral Center. The Holiday Market is both Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Satuday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m, also located at the St. Thomas Aquinas Pasoral Center.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the event and are available at: adorn, Casual Rags, Community Bank, Indianola Chamber of Commerce, Jefferson Plaza Leasing, JRene, Kerry's Flowers, Peoples Bank, St. Thomas Aquinas Church and Todd's Shoes. Make sure to get your tickets as this is an event that you won't want to miss! 

Mark your calendars for all three of these events and join the fun, holiday festivities with everyone in our community!

The event draws up to 6,000 bikes and brings large crowds to enjoy live music, food and motorcycle exhibits. Mason Jar and the Gypsy Outlaws will be playing music all night and "The Best" bike contest will happen, with the winner receiving a personal parking space for 2016. Check out all of the vendors, grab some food, and enjoy the night with friends!

Mark your calendars and plan to attend the Rudolf Insurance golf outing on September 19, 2015, 9 a.m. shotgun start at the Rolling Hills Golf Course in Norwalk!

A parade will begin on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Activities available on both Saturday and Sunday are: Pioneer Demonstrations, a Medora Ladies Aid Hand Pieced Quilt for Raffle displayed in the Museum Dining Hall, Jerry Beatty’s book Warren County and the Civil War on sale, Antique and Craft Vendors, Garage Sale, Food Vendors, and the Heritage Village and Historical Museum are open.
 
Saturday only Events: Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m., Parade at 10:00 a.m., Civil War Re-Enactors, The Army of the Southwest after the parade until 4PM, Kid's Corner: Scarecrow Making, Rope Making, The Rabbit Lady, Sketch Artist, Farmers Market 7:30 to 4:00 p.m., Giant Pumpkin Contest, and Swan Chili Cook-off.
