It's Friday Night Live!

The Summer Concert Series of the Year

 It's Friday Night Live - June 3, 2016!

“Believe in something beautiful & have the faith to let it grow,” quoting a line straight from one of Josh Sinclair’s songs entitled, "It Stays The Same", is like looking into the heart of the singer/songwriter.

Growing up in Des Moines, Iowa, Josh picked up the guitar at the age of 10 and took lessons for a few years.  He was in and out of bands throughout high school and into college when he and his brother, Nicholas, teamed up to form the pop/rock duo, Little Mojo.  Josh went on to form the power-pop trio Hollywood Burnout.  They signed a deal with Reform Records (NYC) & released a self-titled EP in 2010.

Hollywood Burnout plays songs perfect for the radio, ranging in styles from pop to alternative, to crossover country.

Warren County Well Testing

Many of the wells still in use today in Warren County were constructed in a manner that does not meet modern construction standards or adequately protect the quality of the water.  Some of these wells are good enough that they can be renovated by reconstructing the top ten feet of the well.  Many others are so poorly constructed that they can only be abandoned, plugged and replaced by another water source.

Contact Warren County Health Services at 515-961-1074 if you have an abanoned well or have questions about your current well.

Windsor Manor

Living with Dementia Series

If you or a loved one has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease or another type of dementia, you probably have a lot of questions. Windsor Manor will offer “Living with Dementia,“ a three-part series designed to provide an overview of dementia through the eyes of the afflicted, from the perspective of the loved ones engaged in the struggle, and to offer coping and communication strategies that caregivers can use to make each day a little easier. We would love to have friends and family members join us for the following sessions, which will be held from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Windsor Manor.

Thursday, April 21
TOPIC: From the Eyes of the Afflicted
Participants will view and discuss part of the critically acclaimed HBO Alzheimer’s series,
“The Alzheimer’s Project.”

Thursday , April 28
TOPIC: Inside the Mind of the Afflicted
In this session, participants will be presented with basic information about the damage caused by various dementias and the resultant symptoms. Understanding what causes problematic behaviors can help us to create communication and care strategies that create a better day for everyone.

Thursday, May 5
TOPIC: From the health care professional’s perspective
Alzheimer’s Disease is an irreversible and progressive disease with many common symptoms. Understanding what comes next in the disease process is a critical step for loved ones, helping them to be better prepared for the inevitable declines caused by the disease and to help them live each day focusing on all that is left, rather than only grieving the losses.

These sessions are open to the public and offered free of charge. For the sake of ensuring adequate space, participants are kindly asked to register for sessions by calling Emili at 515-961-8900
