Flatlanders Youth Fishing Derby

Lakeland - Lanier Chamber of Commerce

The 3 – 6 age group winners did a lot more catching than they did fishing! Rayne Lyons won first place with 26 fish.  Khloe Jackson was close behind with 24 fish for second place and her big sister Kaliyah Jackson won third place with 17 fish.  Ricky Wagner caught the largest fish measuring in at 401 cm.
Cannon Darsey led the 7-11 year olds (the largest group by far) taking first place with 28 fish.  C.J. Monroe took second place with 20 fish with Aiden Newbern catching 12 fish to win third place.  Lexi Page landed the largest fish with a 382 cm catfish.
Antonio Norton took first place in the 12-15 age group with 18 fish.  Garret Page caught 9 fish for second place, including the largest fish measuring 355 cm.  Ronean Hughes won third place with 5 fish.
This free, annual event is sponsored by the City of Lakeland, Lanier County, and the Chamber of Commerce along with private donations.   The Department of Natural Resources stocks the pond every year for this Derby. We are looking forward to welcoming even more anglers next year!
