National Summit of Mining Communities Sponsorships Available!!

WHO: The National Summit of Mining Communities is a gathering between communities and industry that recognizes the many unique challenges associated with boom and bust cycles of mining and provides a forum to address these issues. This year’s partners include the Leadville Lake County Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Mountain College, the Leadville Coalition and the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum. 150-200 attendees are expected to participate – elected officials, industry representatives, community leaders, land use planners.

WHAT: The Summit format consists of presenters and panels from mining communities who will share how they have dealt with such issues as economic impacts, environmental remediation, preservation of mining heritage, recreational tourism and regulatory impacts. In addition to educational and networking sessions, this year’s 4-day event features guided tours of cultural sites, the “Taste of Leadville,” and historian-led visits to Leadville’s legendary dining and spirits establishments.

WHEN: Begins Monday, October 1 at 9:00 am; concludes Thursday, October 4 at 2:00 pm

WHERE: The Summit is held in a different mining community each year (2011 – Elko, Nevada). The 2012 Summit returns to historic Leadville, Colorado – located in the center of Colorado, 103 miles west of Denver and 178 miles east of Grand Junction. The majority of conference sessions will be held at the National Mining Hall of Fame Convention Center, located at 120 West 9th St, Leadville. Select sessions will be held at the Colorado Mountain College Leadville Campus, 901 South Highway 24.

WHY: Launched by Mayor Bud Elliott and the City of Leadville in 2006, the National Summit of Mining Communities was created to share knowledge, experiences, achievements and solutions to common issues facing every mining community. The focus is on “communities talking to communities.”

SPONSOR DETAILS: 6th National Summit of Mining Communities Sponsors will be recognized leading up to the conference in press releases, marketing materials, and online, as well as throughout the conference in attendee packets, events signage, and special recognition at events. Company and individual sponsorship opportunities are available to meet specific needs and objectives.
