2013 MINER’S MASQUERADE BALL AND WINE TASTING

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Leadville, CO… January 13, 2013 …  You are cordially invited to the 2013 Miner’s Masquerade Ball and Wine Tasting, hosted by and a fundraiser for, the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum.  This unique celebration is a great and different way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your special someone or with a group of friends.

This year, the celebration is taking a turn for the mysterious with a Victorian Masquerade theme.  We encourage guests to grab a mask, wear your Victorian finest and revel in an evening of tasting, eating, and dance.

The evening begins with two full hours of Valentine’s wine and beer tasting made possible by the generosity of our partners, Leadville Liquors and GF Rutkey.  About the time you start to think about dinner, an elegant, three-course meal is served in the Charles F. Barber Pavilion catered by event partner, Foods of Vail. Round off the evening with a Victorian Dance – no experience necessary as our excellent Dance Master will walk you through every dance – plus a selection of other dance-worthy music featuring the Shadow Mountain String Band.

During the event, guests will be able to tour the museum, either on your own or guided by the Executive Director or a knowledgeable museum volunteer, while stopping at all tasting stations.  After the tasting, the fun doesn’t have to stop there – there will be a cash bar and bottles of wine available for purchase to enjoy with dinner.  Guests also have the option to bid on our silent auction featuring items from Leadville and surrounding communities. If dancing is not quite your thing, you can join the card game tables hosted by our volunteer dealers – winners can win two free tickets to next year’s event!
