Dear I-70 Stakeholder:

We are reaching out because you know the individuals who likely will be impacted during construction. We hope that in partnering with you we can more effectively broaden the reach of our communications effort, which will be focused on three primary areas:

1. Providing construction coping information and project updates
2. Sharing that the mountain communities and recreational amenities are open for business
3. Relaying the overall vision for the I-70 Mountain Corridor and plans for future (including the future implementation of a managed lane in the tunnel)

Beginning in April through late 2013, the eastbound I-70 traffic will be shifted onto a detour route near the tunnel and both directions of I-70 traffic will be periodically stopped for rock blasting work most days. Because the blasting schedule will vary each day to coincide with periods of low traffic volume and because travelers using this crucial mountain gateway could be affected, we encourage you to stay updated on the project and share this information with your customers, colleagues, or constituents. Attached is a project fact sheet that provides the overall information on this upcoming project.

Here are additional ways to get information on the I-70 Twin Tunnels Project:

• The project website at http://www.coloradodot.info/projects/i-70mountaincorridor for the daily blasting schedule, information on construction activities and animations of what the final product will look like
• The project hotline, 303-327-4034, has recorded information on the blasting schedule and enables you to leave a message for project representatives
• Flyers, posters and other written information pieces are being distributed to businesses and venues along the I-70 corridor to keep everyone updated
• A weekly email notice provides information on the following week’s construction activities
• Signage along I-70 will alert motorists to pending rock blasting work
