One Lane of US 24 Now Open North of Leadville Contact: Ashley Mohr - 303-550-0354 Eagle/Lake Counties - The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has reopened one lane of US 24 north of Leadville and south of Red Cliff near mile marker. The highway was closed this afternoon so CDOT crews could determine if the roadway was safe for use. One lane of US 24 will remain closed indefinitely as crews observe the activity surrounding the sinkhole to assess if the damage will spread during weather changes or if it is contained. All traffic will alternate through the closure zone for the next couple of days until the extent of necessary repairs is determined. Let's Give 'em ALL the Pickle!
