Director's Corner

Hello Members,
First of all, a hearty THANK YOU to all of you for being an important and productive part of the Leadville/Lake County economy and community.  It is through your efforts and voices that our local economy will continue to have the strength to progress and develop well into the future.

As we enter the fall season, keep your energy and attitudes positive.  September and October offer, I think, one of the best opportunities for Leadville to extend its season.  The weather is great, the kids are in school, and businesspeople would be happy to welcome more visitors to Leadville with open arms.

I believe that expanding the seasons that Leadville businesses can strongly benefit from to include more than primarily the summer months is a priority.  Success would mean that a business could plan easier, employ full time people longer, and have an easier time balancing income and expenses throughout the year.

The Chamber of Commerce will continue to work with businesspeople, organizations, and community leaders to turn these hopes to realities as quickly as possible over the next few years.

Thank you again, and enjoy the beautiful autumn season that Leadville is fortunate to experience.
Jeff McGuinness
