This 2.5 hour tour is a great opportunity to see and photograph various icons on the Preserve. Photo opportunities include the historical headquarters area of the old Baca Ranch (featuring 100 year-old cabins), History Grove (an old-growth forest), a ghost town (old movie set), and the sinuous Jaramillo Creek. Other stops may be made if time permits. Van tour length = 2.5 hours.

Volunteers from New Mexico Trout conduct fly fishing clinics for youths, allowing up to 20 participants the opportunity to fish the headwaters of the East Fork of the Jemez River on the Preserve. Participants spend a half day learning about equipment, tackle, knots, stream insect sampling and identification.

To offer more flexibility for hiking on the Preserve, we are experimenting with hiking shuttles. The shuttles will offer a greater variety of start times and trail choices. The Alamo Hiking Shuttle (route map & schedule), which operates out of the Banco Bonito staging area, gives you access to seven different trails.
