Hours of Operation
The Water Discovery Center is currently planning a $25 million capital campaign to construct the building, create the exhibits and underwrite opening year expenses. We hope to break ground in 2012.About Us
Dedicated to raising public awareness of the precious nature of the world's fresh water supply, the proposed Water Discovery Center will feature 25,000 sq. ft. of interactive education exhibits. The center will be located on the East Branch of the Delaware River in Arkville, NY. The building, designed by Architect, Joseph Hurley, will feature green technology and is expected to leave result in a "zero carbon footprint."
Exhibits will explore the world's water crisis, New York City's extraordinary water delivery system which delivers 1.2 billion gallons of fresh unfiltered water from the Catskill/Delaware watershed to the thirsty city daily, and strategies for preserving and protecting the fundamental element of life.
