iDream/iCreate

In 3rd grade students get to play a buy local game and learn about local business owners.  5th Graders work in teams on their teamwork and presentation skills problem solving and creating 3D prototypes for a Shark Tank competition. In 7th Grade get creative and pitch ideas for making an Impact on a local community problem through social entrepreneurship. 9th graders and 11th graders put creativity and entrepreneurial characteristics to use promoting a product and the product is themselves! 9th Graders create personal logos and slogans and 11th graders advance to personal branding videos. The capstone event for this iCREATE Project is available to all high school seniors.  They can practice their necessary soft skills and entrepreneurial characteristics by competing for a soft skills scholarship.  Student participants network during a community event and are judged against a known rubric by anonymous panel of judges.  This year’s winner walked away with a $500 scholarship. The scholarship was not earmarked for college-bound students.  If a student was workforce bound they could use the money for essential workplace supplies. Practice makes perfect and these students enjoyed the opportunity to practice these critical skills!
