The Women of Excellence welcomes Guest Speaker Jennifer Carroll
on November 18th at Baer's furniture from 8AM - 9:30AM. Jennifer Carroll is the former 18th Lieutenant Governor of Florida.  She was the first black American and first woman to be elected to the position of  Lieutenant Governor to the Sate of Florida and has served the Florida House of Representatives from 2003 until 2010. She recently published a Best Seller autobiography When You Get There.  Please plan to attend to hear her inspirational story!  Breakfast sponsored by The Fountains. Gold Star Properties celebrated its Ribbon Cutting celebration on Wednesday, Oct. 1st from 4-6PM. Refreshments were served along with fabulous door prizes. Gold Star Properties is located at 2000 S. Patrick Drive in Indian Harbour Beach.

Senior Living Options Day About Choices
Over a dozen senior living communities compared at One Senior Place
 
If history is any indication, Florida retirees will converge on One Senior Place for the 9th annual “Senior Living Options Day” on Friday, November 7th.   Virtual tours of over a dozen senior living communities are planned for the free Noon to 4:00 PM event at the Viera hub for senior services located at 8085 Spyglass Hill Road.  Representatives from various senior communities will be on hand to answer questions throughout the afternoon and attendees will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a free i-Pad from Wuesthoff Town Square.  The annual special event is a favorite with local seniors and will include a selection of free appetizers and desserts along with numerous giveaways and door prizes.  A panel of celebrity judges will determine the winner of the 2014 “Top Chef” competition, after sampling the entries provided by 11 chefs from the participating senior communities.  An RSVP to confirm attendance is suggested.  Call One Senior Place at (321) 751-6771 or contact them through their website at www.OneSeniorPlace.com.  

Eau Gallie Arts District Donates Kiosk to City of Melbourne
The Eau Gallie Arts District Main Street (EGAD) is proud to donate the first kiosk for the Indian River Lagoon National Scenic Byway to the City of Melbourne. The kiosk will be installed in Pineapple Park, which is part of the Indian River Lagoon (IRL) National Scenic Byway. The public is welcome to attend the celebration on Friday, November 7, 2014, at 5 p.m. as Melbourne’s Mayor Kathy Meehan and City Council members dedicate the kiosk in Pineapple Park.  Following the dedication is EGAD’s First Friday from 5:30-8:30 pm featuring live music from Mark Baker & Friends in the band shell, arts and crafts vendors around the Eau Gallie Square, and shops open late for a little holiday shopping.
 
The Eau Gallie kiosk is the first of six kiosks to be installed along the 195 mile scenic byway that will inform and educate visitors and residents about the historical, cultural, environmental and recreational resources found along the Indian River Lagoon.

On October 9, 2014, LifeStyle Homes was honored to receive the Best Practice Award for its sustainability efforts by the statewide organization, Sustainable Florida. The awards ceremony took place at Streamsong Resort in Hardee County during Sustainable Florida’s annual Working on the Green Sustainability Summit.

LifeStyle Homes was nominated for Sustainable Florida’s Best Practice Awards for its deployment of the LifeStyle SunSmart℠ program and solar-powered homes. Developed in partnership with the scientists at the Florida Solar Energy Center in Cocoa in 2009, LifeStyle SunSmar℠ increases a home’s efficiency and performance by at least 40 percent with scientifically tested energy-efficient building components and practices. All new LifeStyle homes are built to this higher standard. To date, the company has built nearly 300 LifeStyle SunSmart℠ homes for residents of Central Florida.

Conference Room Posthumously Dedicated to 'IT Whiz Kid'
