With a career in social services that spans more than 4 decades, Cindy is an experienced director of non-profit organizations relying on volunteers. She has bachelor and master degrees in social work from Florida International University with a specialization in gerontology. She’s been Director of Social Services for The Salvation Army in Miami, where she supervised an 80 member staff, continuing her career in Brevard County as Director of their domestic violence program. She is currently President/CEO of Aging Matters, a senior serving agency with 11 programs including Meals on Wheels.

Topic: Robotic Single Incision Surgery
Guest Speaker: Dr. H. Drexel Dobson III
Dr. Drexel Dobson III is a highly specialized surgeon in the field of robotic surgery.  As a member of  the Medical Staff at Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge, Florida, he provides minimally invasive and robotic surgical services for the community.  
The Da Vinci Surgical System is a sophisticated robotic platform designed to expand the surgeon's capabilities and offer a state-of-the-art minimally invasive option for major surgery. With Da Vinci, small incisions are used to insert miniaturized wristed instruments and a high-definition 3D camera. Although it is often called a "robot", the Da Vinci System cannot move or operate on its own;  the surgeon is 100% in control.

Health First will present on their eICU Medical Technology. The game-changing Electronic Intensive Care Unit VitalWatch technology allows physicians and nurses in the Clinical Operations Control Room to use powerful computer technology to monitor patients who are actually miles away. Two members of the team will share about this amazing  technology. Luann Tirelli, the Operations Manager for Health First's VitalWatch eICU, oversees the functioning of Health First's VitalWatch eICU program. Brandon Fritz, a Systems Analyst with Health First's IT team, is the  eICU-designated technician who manages the software, networking, and technology that VitalWatch uses to care for Health First's most critical patients.

Riordan - CEO, Titan Training & Recruiting Services, LLC and Marcus Claycomb, Titan's VP of Corporate Security Training on December 16th at Baer's Furniture from 8AM - 9:30AM.  Two security experts from Titan Training and Recruiting Services, LLC will speak and perform a demonstration on self-awareness and self-defense during the holiday season.  Titan utilizes decades of law enforcement experience and training combined with advanced academic backgrounds to aid in corporate security, training, and hiring efforts. Tis the Season to Give to the Supply Zone For Teachers

With the help of many community partners, the Supply Zone for Teachers will serve more than 650 teachers by the end of the first semester. On average teachers receive about $250 in supplies for their students and classrooms at each shopping trip. During this season of giving, please consider helping the organization provide this invaluable service for Brevard Public Schools teachers by donating school supplies for the Supply Zone. Who Will Change Your Light Bulbs?

The Sandwich Generation seminar series continues at One Senior Place with the presentation of "Who Will Change My Light Bulbs" On Thursday, December 11th from 5:30-7:00 PM.  Designed for adults juggling responsibilities for aging parents while raising their own children, "Who Will Change My Light Bulbs" will discuss the cost of maintaining personal independence throughout retirement.  The free information and strategies session for the Sandwich Generation attendees will be facilitated by Ken Whittaker of Whittaker Cooper.  One Senior Place is located at 8085 Spyglass Hill Road in Viera.  Admission is free and refreshments will be served.  Additional information is available on the One Senior Place website at www.OneSeniorPlace.com and an RSVP is requested by calling (321) 751-6771.

Rotary Clubs Present 'Joyful Winds Jubilee'

The Eau Gallie and Indialantic chapters of Rotary Club International will present a Joyful Winds Jubilee to benefit the not-for-profits Genesis House and M.O.R.G.A.N Project on Saturday, December 13th in Suntree.  The 55 brass, woodwind and percussion musicians of the Central Florida Winds orchestra will headline the family-friendly Christmas music program from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Scott Center for the Performing Arts, 5625 Holy Trinity Drive in Melbourne 32940.  They will be joined by local jazz singer, Len Fallen, comedian and impressionist, Dean Warr, and members of the Space Coast Chorus, from the Barbershop Harmony Society.  The Scott Center for the Performing Arts is located on the Pineda Campus of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, between U.S. Hwy 1 and Wickham Road.  Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children aged 12 and under.  Genesis House provides shelter for homeless women and children.  The M.O.R.G.A.N. Brevard Community Chorus, Brevard Youth Chorus, BSO players, professional soloists perform
 
A 20th Century Christmastime choral classic will be presented on Saturday, December 13th by Dr. Robert E. Lamb, Professor of Music, Director of Choral Activities, and Chair of the Department of Performing and Visual Arts for Eastern Florida State College.  Lamb will conduct members of the Brevard Community Chorus in a 7:30 PM performance of Hodie (This Day), a Christmas cantata by Ralph Vaughan Williams at the King Center for the Performing Arts, 3865 N. Wickham  Road in Melbourne, 32935.  Accompanied by select players from the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, the 100+voice adult chorus will perform the 16-movement work along with ensemble members of the Brevard Youth Chorus.  Professional soloists include Jacqueline Blanc, soprano, Kyle Jones, tenor and Kyle Knappenberger, baritone.  The 90-minute concert will conclude with an audience sing-along of favorite Christmas carols.  General admission tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and active military and $5 for children or college students with valid student identification.  Visit the King Center box office or call  (321) 242-2219.
