SCTC Quarterly Dinner & Mini-Expo

Hampton Inn by Hilton Melbourne Viera to Present
Brevard Zoo with $1000 Check
Hampton Inn by Hilton Melbourne Viera will present their community partner and backyard neighbor, the Brevard Zoo, with a check for $1000.00, made possible through Hilton Worldwide Travel with Purpose Grant. The program provides funds for sustainability projects and nonprofit community partners to implement a project that delivers on creating opportunities, strengthening communities, celebrating cultures and living sustainably.
The Brevard Zoo will launch a brand new community-based conservation project, through which volunteers from Hampton Inn by Hilton Melbourne Viera and the local community will assemble and disperse “seed bombs” to create thriving wildflower habitat for pollinators.

GrowFL Announces 2015 Florida Companies to Watch Finalists
Area Companies Among Second-Stage Businesses Competing to Earn Prestigious Honor
GrowFL has announced the 2015 Florida Companies to Watch finalists. The awards event - now in its fifth year - honors 50 select second-stage companies from throughout the state for developing valuable products and services, creating quality jobs, enriching communities, and broadening new industries throughout Florida. More than 500 companies were nominated for this year’s award. The 101 finalists collectively represent $694 million in annual revenue and employ 3,280 full-time equivalent employees.
As an economic development organization partner of GrowFL, the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast is proud to support this event. Six finalists from Brevard County made the list.
Finalists from Melbourne include, Certified General Contractors, Inc., K. Parks Consulting, Inc., Modus Operandi, and Sorensen Moving & Storage. Representing Titusville is RUSH Construction, Inc., and from Cocoa Beach, Novel Engineering, Inc.
The winners will be announced in late August. The 2015 honorees will be celebrated at the awards ceremony November 5th at the Hard Rock Live at Universal Resort in Orlando.

The Space Coast Office of Tourism wants to know about your company’s “Space-Related” activities for visitors
How is your company tied to America’s Space Program? Do you offer a guided tour that highlights events in the Space Program? Does your product tie into Space Program activities? Does your restaurant offer a special drink named for a rocket or astronaut? Were the astronauts regular visitors to your business? Did John Glenn stay at your hotel? What does your business offer a Space Coast visitor that reflects the history of Space in our destination?
The Office of Tourism is poised to spend money to market our destination as THE place to experience Space Tourism in all of its facets. They want to promote your business, your products and your activities to potential visitors. Provide the content and they will promote and market it for you!
Maybe you do not have a space-related offering at this time, but now you have an idea for something to promote to Space Coast visitors. Add a space-themed itinerary to your tour company’s existing tours. Research your company’s assets and see what you have that might entice a visitor to spend an extra day on the Space Coast. Or make it enough of a draw that the visitor plans a future visit just to experience it!
