2016 Scholarship Opportunities
Brevard Schools Foundation is announcing its annual Scholarship Opportunity booklet for students graduating from Brevard Public Schools is now available. 

Each year, with the support of many generous sponsors, Brevard Schools Foundation is able to provide scholarships to deserving students looking to achieve the dream of a college education.  Scholarships range from $250.00 to $3,000.00.  Several are multi-year awards.  This year, 75 scholarships are being offered totaling more than $65,000.00.
To apply, students can obtain a copy of the booklet from the guidance office at school, or go to the Brevard Schools Foundation website www.brevardschoolsfoundation.org/programs/scholarships.   
Completed applications are due to the school guidance office by Monday, March 14, 2016.

Kindred Healthcare Promotes Pamela Reed to Chief Executive Officer at Kindred Hospital Melbourne
Kindred Healthcare is pleased to announce the promotion of Pamela R. Reed to the position of  Chief Executive Officer at Kindred Hospital Melbourne.

The Experts in Aging Ask: "How is Your Memory?"
The Latest Research on Dementia Prevention and Treatment
Viera-based One Senior Place, the Experts in Aging, will host Dr. Marieke Cajal, Triage Specialist and Neuroscientist at Compass Research, for a presentation on "Memory: Health & Hope" on Friday, February 19th at 1:00 PM.  Dr. Cajal will discuss memory loss, the aging process and the newest research regarding the prevention and treatment of dementia.  The Compass Research seminar will focus on signs, symptoms and treatments for memory loss and Alzheimer’s Disease.  Dr. Cajal will share the latest information and answer audience questions. Home Instead Senior Care Named Finalist in the Second Annual Bright House Networks Regional Business Awards of Greater Orlando
Winning Businesses to Be Honored at March 11 Recognition Event

Home Instead Senior Care Melbourne recently announced that it has been named a finalist in the second annual Bright House Networks Regional Business Awards in the Greater Orlando area. Home Instead Senior Care was named a finalist in the Large Business Category for the awards, which honor the companies, organizations and people who have impacted the Greater Orlando area with their products, services, and thought leadership. Winning businesses will be honored at a special celebration on March 11 at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek.
 
Home Instead Senior Care is owned by two sisters, Marge Thompson and Laura Purcell. Thompson and Purcell have serviced the seniors of Brevard County for eight years with non-medical in home care.  Their goal is to keep seniors safe in their homes.  All Home Instead Senior Care employees are covered by Workmen’s Compensation and Liability Insurance, and are all Level 2 fingerprinted, drug-screened and trained by their full-time staff.
 
Bright House Networks has teamed up with Chambers of Commerce in nine counties to host this event connecting local businesses in a celebration of best-in-class.  Bright House Networks will award prizes totaling over $1,000,000, including commercial TV production, air time, inclusion in a customer newsletter, and cash.


GFWC Viera Woman's Club "For the Love of Children" Dinner Dance
SAVE THE DATE! SATURDAY, MARCH 19, 2016

The GFWC Viera Woman's Club presents its "For the Love of Children" Dinner Dance to benefit Camp Boggy Creek. Sponsored by the Viera Voice, the event will be held Saturday, March 19 from 6:00 to 10:00pm at Suntree Country Club, 1 Suntree Drive, Melbourne. The cost is $70 per person and includes dinner with a cash bar. Music by Pearl Joy and Howard.

Camp Boggy Creek was founded in 1996 by Paul Newman and General H. Norman Schwarzkopf so that every child, no matter their illness, could experience the great spirit and awe-inspiring friendships that go hand in hand with camp. There is no charge for campers. The camp is funded through the support of individuals, corporation, foundations, and volunteer organizations like GFWC Viera Woman's Club.
