Arctic Blast Tuesdays return to Brevard Zoo
As the midyear heat quickly approaches, Brevard Zoo is planning to revive Arctic Blast Tuesdays, one of its most popular summer events.

Every Tuesday in June and July at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., Zoo staff will dump one or more large blocks of ice in the Paws On “play lagoon,” a shallow water play area. Each block weighs approximately 300 pounds.

“We all know how hot Florida gets in the summer,” said Andrea Hill, director of marketing and communications at the Zoo. “What better way to help kids cool off than to dump giant ice cubes in our play lagoon?”

Women's Center Victim Advocate of the Year
Congratulations Jacqueline Ares for receiving the Kathy L. King Victim Advocate of the Year Award presented by State Attorney, Phil Archer. Now going on her eighth year as a Victim Advocate at the Women's Center, Jacqueline Ares continues to be extremely passionate about assisting clients of interpersonal, power- based violence. Jacqueline receives countless thanks and regards from those she has assisted to live a safer, brighter future, working tirelessly in even the most unique situations. Jacqueline Ares' assistance is limitless and she always goes beyond the call of duty for her clients.

The Women's Center is proud to celebrate Jacqueline's outstanding accomplishment and honored to have had not one, BUT two victim advocates receive this amazing award two years in a row. Victim advocate Cynthia Harris in our Titusville office received this award in 2015. We are extremely blessed to work alongside such passionate and hardworking women on a daily basis! Thank you for all you do for our community.

BPS Hosts 2016 Business Partner of the Year Awards
