Brevard Schools Foundation Begins Community-Wide School Supply Drive

The Foundation pre-registers qualified students and then holds a distribution event, its “Back to School Giveaway” on July 30 at Clearlake Education Center.  This is the site of the Supply Zone for Teachers, a new program of the Brevard Schools Foundation that gives free supplies to teachers at schools with high poverty levels.  For more information, please contact Elizabeth Schreiber at 321-633-3660, ext. 301 or Schreiber.Elizabeth@brevardschools.org.

In an effort to give Space Coast youth the opportunity to learn about and be inspired by local conservation efforts, Brevard Zoo is hosting its fifth annual Youth Environmental Summit from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 23.

The Summit is organized by the Zoo’s Teen Conservation Leaders and aims to give peers ages 12-18 the tools and knowledge to become involved with local conservation projects through a variety of hands-on workshops and presentations. Attendees can also attend a youth-led conservation panel, connect with like-minded peers, learn about local environmental issues and pursue a conservation project of their own. A $15 registration fee, which includes lunch, is required; participants can register online at www.brevardzoo.org/youthsummit.
