Raymond James Cares About Devereux
Rain doesn't dampen spirits at end-of-summer ice cream party
Staff members from Whittaker Cooper Financial Group climbed aboard a brightly colored ice cream truck under cloudy skies on Monday, August 8 and headed toward Devereux in Viera where they handed out more than 200 frozen confections to youngsters and staff as part of the Raymond James Cares initiative. When the rains came, staffers held umbrellas over those in line for ice cream.  As skies cleared, the children made use of giant water slides and enjoyed a final day of fun before the start of the new school year.  Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, Florida is a leading non-profit provider of behavioral health, intellectual/developmental disabilities and child welfare services. Exotic Crocodiles Coming to Brevard Zoo over Labor Day Weekend
Giant reptiles from Cuba, China and Africa are en route to Brevard Zoo for its annual Cold-Blooded Weekend event. Reptile expert Bruce Schwedick of the Crocodilian Conservation Center of Florida is bringing five crocodile and alligator species to the Zoo’s Nyami Nyami River Lodge, where he will deliver daily talks on the natural history and conservation status of the animals.
As part of the festivities, the Zoo will introduce two new species to its Caribbean Trail loop: the Jamaican boa and marine toad.

Perennial Cold-Blooded Weekend favorites like stingray feeding, tortoise races and bug-eating contests are scheduled to return. The event, which is included with general Zoo admission, runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on September 3-5.
