Brevard Zoo Releases Rehabilitated Sea Turtle
On August 11, Brevard Zoo’s Sea Turtle Healing Center released Hairy at Paradise Beach in Melbourne. Hairy, who is a juvenile green sea turtle, was found debilitated in March in Cocoa Beach. Upon admission to the Healing Center, a CT scan revealed bone loss in both of Hairy’s flippers; this was likely a symptom of an infection, which was treated with antibiotics.

Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival
Brevard Nature Alliance is presenting the 20th Annual Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival, January 25-30, 2017. Located at Eastern Florida State College, Titusville Campus - this event will be a celebration of our 20th Anniversary. The Festival hosts near 4,000 attendees from throughout the US and many foreign countries who fill our hotels, condos, RV parks; eat in our restaurants, shop in our stores and during the 2016 Festival spent #1.28 million in Brevard County.

To create the considered largest birding and wildlife festival in the US, the BNA ( a small non-profit organization) needs your help in supporting this event in 2017.  Volunteers - for a number of interesting tasks.  Nature-based Exhibitors - to promote your services or products. And, most importantly - local Businesses and/or Organizations as Sponsors.   Please use the convenient links below for information and sign up.
