Laural Brown celebrates 30 years with Whittaker Cooper
Financial Group Operations Specialist is recognized Space Coast leader
Operations Specialist Laural A. Brown recently celebrated 30 years of employment with Whittaker Cooper Financial Group. The Melbourne resident oversees customer accounts and daily in-house operations for Whittaker Cooper Financial Group, working closely with financial advisors to assist in planning, account services, and proposal development. Ms. Brown holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Central Florida, and is expected to complete her MBA studies at Liberty University in Spring 2018. She is a 2016 graduate of the Space Coast leadership program, LEAD Brevard.

Welsh Construction announces promotion of Chris Norton to VP
Welsh Construction recently announced that Chris Norton was promoted to Vice President of Development. Chris started with the company in December of 2015 as Business Development Director and since that time, Welsh, a general commercial contractor, has tripled their staff. The commercial construction section in Brevard County and East Central Florida is booming and the company is putting the finishing touches on their new 10,000 s.f. office complex at 3907 W. Eau Gallie Boulevard, Melbourne.

Tickets for all-inclusive Zoo event now on sale
Unlimited drinks, food from more than forty restaurants and music from nine live bands await attendees of Brevard Zoo’s eighth annual Jazzoo event. The fundraiser, which is slated for Saturday, November 4 from 7 to 11 p.m., supports the Zoo’s animal wellness, education and conservation programs.
“This year, we’re expanding the quantity and quality of live music,” said Karen Davis, the Zoo’s director of development. “It’s not just jazz—all genres are represented, from surf rock to country to contemporary top 40 and beyond.”
Acclaimed saxophonist Jackiem Joyner is returning to headline the event. Cajun fiddler Amanda Shaw, a rising star in the festival circuit, will make her Jazzoo debut. The Biergarten, Food Truck Alley and Sports Bar (broadcasting the evening’s biggest games), all introduced last year to great acclaim, will return.

Brevard Schools Foundation receives the Balda Family Foundation grant for the Take Stock in Children Program
Brevard Schools Foundation is pleased to announce a $20,000 grant from the Balda Family Foundation. These funds will be used to purchase Florida Prepaid Scholarships for students in the Brevard Schools Foundation Take Stock in Children Program. The Balda Family Foundation has been a long-time supporter of the Brevard Schools Foundation, and has donated more than $150,000 that has been used to assist more than 40 Take Stock In Children students.
