Elementary schoolchildren are invited to step into the shoes of a paleontologist as part of Brevard Zoo’s winter break camps. Games, crafts and hands-on animal encounters are themed to tie into the Zoo’s recently opened Dinosaurs Are Back! exhibit.
“The campers are doing some unbelievably fun things this year,” said Chris DeLorey, director of education programs at the Zoo. “Depending on which session they attend, they may get their hands on real fossils, feed animals, compete in relays, go on an egg hunt, create imaginary dinosaurs, make amber slime and more. They’ll even have the opportunity to conquer a Treetop Trek course.”
Two four-day sessions of the camps, which are open to children in grades 1–5, are offered the weeks of December 26–29 and January 2–5.
