B C Art Guild Presents their Featured Artists Exhibit

A Double Feature Photography Exhibit~Carol Bilodeau & Vicki Rose

Duo Photography Exhibit~Carol Bilodeau & Vicki Rose

• Originally from Boston, Carol Bilodeau came to the Las Vegas Valley 13 years ago, and recently retired from the corporate world to travel and pursue her love of photography in earnest. She has recently
photographed the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Festival, subjects in New Orleans, Arizona & Oregon.
• Vicki Rose arrived in Nevada in 1977, and soon enrolled in drawing and photography classes at CCSN. At that time, photography was a film-based medium, so Vicki then became schooled in film photography & dark room film development. With this foundation for her work, she eventually transitioned into digital photography about 2008, allowing her greater freedom to create the mixed images she needs to create her story or message in each final photograph.
•This "Double Feature" Photography Exhibit will be up in the Boulder City Art Guild Gallery now until the end of February.  The public is invited to come & enjoy the exhibit !

The City of Henderson presents its HENDERSON BLUESFEST

The one-day festival is a celebration of passion-packed blues music. Jonny Lang will be headlining the festival with his modern soulful blues style, blazin’ guitar and sultry lyrics.  The festival also features legendary Blues artist, Taj Mahal as well rising artist Quinn Sullivan and child-prodigy Brandon “Taz” Niederauer.  These  Blues artists are sure to show-off their guitar-shredding skills.   This show is a must-see for all Blues lovers.

Food & Beverage Vendors will be onsite.

JONNY LANG  (Headliner) is an American blues, gospel, and rock singer, songwriter, guitarist and recording artist. He has five albums that charted on the top 50 of the Billboard 200 chart and has won a Grammy Award for Turn Around.  He just released a new Album Sept. 8 2017 –SIGNS- that went to #1 on Billboard Blues album chart Sept-30-17 and been there for six weeks.

Taj Mahal is a legendary American blues musician. He often incorporates elements of world music into his works. A self-taught singer-songwriter and film composer who plays the guitar, piano, banjo and harmonica (among many other instruments), Mahal has done much to reshape the definition and scope of blues music over the course of his almost 50-year career by fusing it with nontraditional forms, including sounds from the Caribbean, Africa and the South Pacific.  He released an album earlier this year with Keb mo under the name “TajMo” that has been on the Billboard 200 for 26 weeks.  The album is nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album for the 2018 GRAMMY Awards.

Quinn Sullivan has been a music professional for more than 75 percent of his life. He’s shared the stage with Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Los Lobos, The Roots, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi and Joe Bonamassa, and he opened for B.B. King, who later invited him to play his treasured “Lucille” guitar. He has performed on concert and festival dates throughout the United States – including at storied venues like Hollywood Bowl, RFK Stadium and Madison Square Garden – traveled overseas – performing at both the Montreux Jazz Festival and India’s Mahindra Blues Festival – and played several editions of the Experience Hendrix Tour, backed by Jimi’s original bassist Billy Cox.  He’s also appeared on national TV, with guest appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Oprah, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Conan and twice on The Ellen DeGeneres show.

Brandon “TAZ” Niederauer - Fourteen-year-old guitarist Brandon Niederauer has played in the most legendary rooms in America with some of the most prominent musicians of our time, the young guitarist/singer/ songwriter has built up quite the reputation in the music world, welcoming the nickname “Taz” amongst fans and peers alike.  It started when Brandon watched the movie “School of Rock” at eight-years-old. Also inspired by his father’s record collection, he instantly realized he wanted to play guitar. Four years later, he was cast as the principle role of guitarist “Zack Mooneyham” in the Tony Award- nominated Andrew Lloyd Webber Broadway production, School of Rock the Musical at the Winter Garden Theatre. He’s had the brilliant experiences of playing with members of the Allman Brothers Band including Gregg Allman, Butch Trucks, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, and Oteil Burbridge, as well as other notable musicians such as Buddy Guy, Stevie Nicks, Lady Gaga, Slash, Jon Batiste, Dweezil Zappa, Eric Gales, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Dr. John, Otis Taylor, Gary Clark Jr., Col. Bruce Hampton, Eric Krasno, George Porter Jr., Robert Randolph, Karl Denson, Doug Wimbish, John Popper and countless others.
