FPRA February Meeting: 30 Ideas in 30 Minutes

30 Ideas in 30 Minutes

Fast-paced and fun, this exercise will involve all who attend. We want to hear your great public relations tips and ideas to share with the group. How do you keep up with the latest PR news? What blogs are or websites do you follow? How do you stay current with social media trends? How do you save time and stay organized in the office? How do you build relationships? Maybe you’ve found a helpful smartphone app. No idea is too big or small – or crazy. Bring one idea…leave with 30. The monthly meetings include breakfast and networking opportunities. Breakfast is served at 7:30 am, followed by the meeting and presentation from 8:00-9:00 am.

Speaker: Bob Gernert, APR, CPRC joined FPRA in 1978. He spent his career in the public relations field where he is both accredited and certified as a counselor. In 2014 he retired as the Executive Director of the Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce where he had served for the past 18 years. He was president of the Dick Pope Chapter in 1980-81, FPRA State President in 1985 and served as FPRA Executive Director from 1986 to 1996. He has been Dick Pope Polk County’s Professional of the Year twice and received the John Dillin award from the state in 1999. His career has included such highlights as organizing a successful campaign to bring 911 emergency telephone service to this county as well as leading the successful efforts that led to the preservation of the historic Cypress Gardens property. He is also credited with being instrumental in helping the new CSX intermodal rail terminal become a reality. He is a 56-year resident of Winter Haven. He and wife Melea have two children and three grand children
